I'll give another thumbs up to Haydn and his low coolant alarm. I bought his TM2 temperature gauge / Low Coolant Alarm combination when I got my truck a couple of years ago. I'll know if the coolant drops, I'll know of the temp goes too high.
Haydn is an absolute gent, in my experience the customer ...

Re: Remove cigarette lighter
This is what happens when someone else tries to remove the lighter without success.
I didn't do this, but I've got to fix it :?

Re: Remove cigarette lighter
Hiya,
I blew my front cigarette lighter socket on my slightly older van a while ago and it wasn't easy to remove for fixing.
Probably first thing to check is that the socket is actually broken - check a couple of accessories plugged into it just in case its the detector that doesn't work rather ...

Rust trap in front wings
Hey all,
thought it time to check for rust and top up the waxoyl treatment on my truck. Stripped out the insides to check under the rear heater etc and wheel arches and all seems clean and nice! Will hair dry it tomorrow to spread the wax thats already there then give it a thorough top up.
But, I ...

Power loss and a simple solution!
Hey all,
noticed this morning that the truck was struggling to get any speed up on the way to work. I seemed to have my foot hard to the floor (something I'm not used to) but was still struggling to reach any speed. On the way home I sussed it wouldn't go above 2500 rpm in any gear except 4th - and ...

If half a hour of radio affects the battery voltage then I would suspect your battery is on the way out or not being charged properly (or a bit of both)

Re: Antifreeze type?
Cheers all!
Mike - great recommendation - if its good enough for you guys its good enough for me! I'll pass on the specs to my mechanic friend so he can get the right stuff in for me.
Doone - thanks for that - I'd been searching 'Antifreeze' - so I'd found lots of scattered info... but not that ...

Hey all,
sorry - I know this has been covered before - I've spent a few hours hitting the forum search and found lots of opinions on other threads. But, I'm just as confused now as when I started and really don't want to get this wrong!

Re: What's a 'safe' temperature?
Hey all,
thanks so much for the replies and advice. Its good to know that truck is running at around normal temperature.
The guidance to what readings I should expect in normal use, in more 'strenuous' use, and in an actual overheat situation is very welcome indeed. Now I know what to do if those ...

What's a 'safe' temperature?
Hiya,
just got a quick question for 'experienced' bongo owners!
I've got a 98 2.5L diesel auto tin top with pretty low miles - bought it at the end of last year. I've fitted a TM2 with the low coolant alarm, the temp sensor is installed in the recommended place round the back of the engine. When ...

Re: Rust protection between inner and outer front wings
Hey Andy,
thanks for this - I'll take a list of questions for the Rustmaster folks. They advertise that they inject the cavities but of course they can't be specific on which parts of which vehicles are done.
I'm there on Thursday and I'll report back on where they inject. Anybody else got any ...

Rust protection between inner and outer front wings
Wotcha!
Just about to get my van treated at Rustmaster so had a quick look around it and gave it a clean. I noticed that when the front doors are open, right at the bottom below the door hinge is an open cavity between the inner and outer front wings which in my wagon was full of dead leaves! Not ...
