Hey all,
noticed this morning that the truck was struggling to get any speed up on the way to work. I seemed to have my foot hard to the floor (something I'm not used to) but was still struggling to reach any speed. On the way home I sussed it wouldn't go above 2500 rpm in any gear except 4th - and even then it was really sluggish!
I had visions of it being a knackered turbo, or something wrong with the throttle linkage or similar.
Limped the poor old thing home and when I'd parked it took about ten seconds to find that the floor mat had creased up and got stuck between the accelerator pedal and its little stop. Problem solved - but I did feel a prat for not realising it sooner! Real glad it was stuck under the accelerator rather than the brake!
May all your technical problems be so easily solved!
cheers, davey.
Power loss and a simple solution!

A garage diagnosis would have cost you
amounts of money.

Re: Power loss and a simple solution!
lexus did a recall cus of something similar...only the mats caught on the pedal at 'full' throttle!!
moral is only use 'studded ' mats...

Partner's new shape Micra had the same problem 6 months ago...
She said there's a problem with the accelerator... We took it out for a spin.. I sucked through my teeth & dragged the mat back!

Cheaper by comparison to a race horse...
