How much oil does the rear differential take?

Hello Bongoliers

How much oil does the rear differential take?

I had its oil changed when the Bongo was in the garage a few weeks ago, but since then I've been experiencing diff judder on tight corners after a long journey.

I wonder if the garage used an incorrect grade of oil. I'm going to ...

Brake warning light on

Hello folks

I'm in France avec le Bongo, and my brake warning light is glowing on the dashboard. I've checked brake fluid levels and its full, what else might it be?

Cheers
Simon

Re: More shuddering

The Bongo diagnosed its own juddering problem this morning, when I turned into ATS and there was a massive clonk at the back. Stopped, looked, and found an anti roll bar bush lying in the road!

Re: More shuddering

Cheers. I'll take it down to ATS on Saturday and get the tracking and balancing checked, and if that doesn't work I'll go back to the garage that fitted the propshaft recently and ask them to take a look at whether it's balanced correctly. If it was an unbalanced prop, wouldn't you expect the ...

Re: More shuddering

Thanks both. They're original wheels, and I've checked the PS fluid level. How do I check if the front prop is out of balance?

More shuddering

Hi Bongonauts

I wonder if anyone can guess at a problem I have with my Bongo? I'm getting feedback through the steering wheel, but the curious thing is that it's only intermittent. It's not the tyres, these are the correct sizes as recommended by this site.

When I'm driving the steering feels a ...

Re: Rear arches

I have to get my arches done, too. Been quoted £800 for the job if I supply the panels. How does that price compare with folk who've had it done elsewhere?

On the FAQ part of this website there are details of suppliers of the Transit panels, copied below. Are these part numbers just the outer ...

Re: Brake repair in France

Crumbs, sorry for the late reply. Thanks awfully for the offer of a part relay.

The juddering brakes issue suddenly resolved itself although I am none the wiser as to why. It's due a garage trip so I'll get them to take a look.

Other than the brakes worry, the Bongo performed admirably on a two ...

Brake repair in France

Hello chaps

hoping for a bit of advice. We're in France at the mo, and the Bongo has started to judder under braking.

New pads needed, I thought. However when I took it into the French version of Kwikfit, the mechanic said if there was vibration then the discs would definitely need doing too. Only ...

Thanks Kirsty. Off to the Lakes this weekend and then Scotland the following one, so we will see how it holds under sustained periods of sitting on the M6!

Re: Minor leak - should I worry?

Thought you would all appreciate news of a happy ending!

First stage - up on the ramps. Tried replacing the jubilee clip, but there was still a minor leak under pressure.

Re: Minor leak - should I worry?

Get that orrible rust sorted out  yup, you should worry, if you lose water from there, you lose water from the whole coolant system, get it sorted asap & if you haven't already, may be worth considering a low coolant alarm, mason alarm or something to tell you what's going on, cos with rusty ...

Minor leak - should I worry?

Morning folks

Was having a nice lie down on the road yesterday and noticed a damp water pipe under the Bongo - I think it must be something to do with the rear heater?

Anyway, it looks a bit damp at the junction. Should I replace it?

cheers

Simon
