Hello chaps
hoping for a bit of advice. We're in France at the mo, and the Bongo has started to judder under braking.
New pads needed, I thought. However when I took it into the French version of Kwikfit, the mechanic said if there was vibration then the discs would definitely need doing too. Only problem was, they couldn't find a stockist for Bongo brake discs.
So my questions are firstly, is the mechanic right and it sounds like I need new pads and discs? And if he is, are there any other cars which share the same discs as the Bongo which it would be easy to get hold of in France?
Thanks in advance!

Without driving your Bongo or seeing the front discs, it's hard to tell whether they need replacing or not.
If by 'judder' you mean a vibration or wobble through the steering when braking, this can be caused by warped discs. It can also be caused by out of balance wheels, worn suspension or steering components, damaged tyres etc...
Has the judder come on suddenly or gradually? Hit any potholes hard lately? How old / good quality are the tyres? You can see where I'm heading! Brake judder isn't usually 'dangerous' though, so if the mechanic agrees you may be able to wait until you're next in the UK for replacement.
I may be wrong, but it looks like the front discs are unique to the Bongo:

Most of the UK suppliers on Ebay will post abroad, however - £50ish for the discs, plus £20 or so for p&p would be my guess, so not too ruinous. IME you do tend to get what you pay for with brakes though, so you might want to spend more.

I ve had that numerous times on my other car, It probably is the discs and the pads will need replacing too.
Not sure about where to get them over there though, sorry.

Where about are you, I live about 1.5 hours from the tunnel near Stansted airport, if you need something picking up, I'm off all week.

Crumbs, sorry for the late reply. Thanks awfully for the offer of a part relay.
The juddering brakes issue suddenly resolved itself although I am none the wiser as to why. It's due a garage trip so I'll get them to take a look.
Other than the brakes worry, the Bongo performed admirably on a two week holiday from home in Twickenham - Durham - Ramsgate - Ostend (didn't drive that bit) - Brussels - Strasbourg - The Vosges (And then back home).
