Re: Performance issues-2.5 td

I took out the seat then yes its carpet up to get to a access panel in the floor.Remove that and the top of the tank with the sender unit is then in front of you. I have also considered that scenario-it is a positive push fit and i dont think there is enough clearance for it to come off again. At le...

Re: Performance issues-2.5 td

Mike,The 1st pic is of the pickup filter which is push fit onto the pickup pipe inside the tank.
The 2nd picture-is a plastic tray also in the tank and acts a bit like a baffle or reservoir.
Access is by removing the fuel sender unit.

Performance issues-2.5 td

Some months ago our Bongo developed a fault which i have been chasing eversince. It would start and run fine untill we got to 40/50 mph 3000rpm then it would run rough and power would drop off. Prior to this no work had been done apart from routine servicing which i do myself. Infact the Bongo has b...

Re: roof wont lift

We had a similar problem earlier this year and after doing some research and fault finding discovered that the AFT control unit is unlikely to have failed(nothing is ever for certain though). If you are confident that the checks suggested in the other responses are not the problem then you can suppl...

Re: AFT roof raise problem - need pictures of mechanism

Shane, the roof rails are held by 6 bolts each side.to access them the cabin ceiling trim needs to come out,2 bolts are covered by the roof trim above the drivers area but can be reached without taking the trim down. I would not recommend undoing the hinge bolts and lifting the roof it will most like...

Re: Sheared glowplug

I have not had to easyout one myself but looking at an old glowplug (ngk) i think a lot depends on which brand you have fitted as it would appear certain makes would be more likely to fall apart whilst being drilled. you could practice on one of the other old ones to see whats likely to happen! Coul...

Re: Silicone Hose feedback

Our Bongo has a full set of silicone hoses fitted in June 2008 which have occasionally suffered from coolant loss. They were originally secured with good quality jubilee clamps,i replaced them with the Norma clamps(thanks Haydn)in September this year. So far(including the recent cold weather) we hav...

Re: ABS Problem

I dont know which year your bongo is but i believe older bongos(ours is a p)dont have any diagnostics. you can visually inspect each lead(one at each wheel)for damage, then use a meter to test them for continuity and also if you spin each wheel in turn check for output. some owners have found the lea...
