Re: speedo bulb type
Yep, 286 is the small warning light bulb in the black holder, since found out the green holder has a 501 bulb, same size as the sidelight! Job done, red ones on order to make a change to the dash.

Re: front suspension knocking.... and it aint droplinks...
Job done! After some jiggery-pokery with an old rubber car mat and a crowbar, I managed to get some rubber under the lower spring to silence it and its worked! Mind you, I don't know how long for...
Cheers for your help and suggestions guys.

front suspension knocking.... and it aint droplinks...
Guys, I have a knocking/tapping from the lower front drivers side coil spring, it appears the lower rubber "seat" that the spring sits in has perished, so the spring keeps knocking the metal mount that houses it. You can see where it has metal on metal contact. The drop links have been replaced. Has ...

Re: Going abroad with ONLY the bongo - no trailer etc
Hi again feeblecat!,
Anything is possible, it's the planning that counts. just utilize every nook and cranny, underseats etc. As stated before, only take the things you will use. Any doubts, leave it a home.

Re: Driving in Germany
Excellent feeblecat!,
We started in Bernkastel-Kues (Mosel), down to Lindau (Bavaria), then Freiburg (Black Forest). Love it. And the Bongomobile behaved as ever. Munich next year.

Mark.

Re: Driving in Germany
well? How did you get on? We were in Germany when you put your post up, we had 16 days this year there, 20 next year (Bavaria). Absolutely love it, especially toll-free driving. I used to travel to/through Germany in my pevious life as a long-distance lorry driver and still enjoy it. Where did you ...

european breakdown cover.
Just got ours sorted with www.europeanbreakdowncover.com. With greenflag, 14 year old bongo, 5 people. Very comprehensive cover, comparable to our AA cover of last year, but half the price. £65.86 for 16 days. Greenflag won't do it themselves because of 8 seats for some reason, but this company will ...

Shamba Camping, (New Forest) Ringwood, Hants
On the edge of the New Forest, excellent site which was easy to find, quiet at night with a zero tolerance of noise after 2300! Spotlessly clean, very child freindly. Decent pitches with electric. Not the cheapest, but worth it. Have a look at their website for more info.

Re: Back from services but needs more work
your engine in pics looks just the same as mine! As others have stated before, my rocker cover also weeps a little, the gunk from the EGR the same, and I have today just replaced the top pinion seal on the power steering, which as stated before drips onto the intercooler. The intercooler is only air ...
