Are you sure its the pump as they are normally very reliable things. Before looking for another pump I'd consider other options. I'm sure that these symptoms could be put down to a malfunctioning EGR valve. Someone else who has more knowledge of the problem may chip in and I think its a relatively e...

Does it sound like it comes from the front suspension? Could be a creaky bottom ball joint. Try and replicate it by bouncing on the suspension.

By the way on looking at your avatar and your location were you at Marine Hall, Fleetwood on Saturday?

I have had a few diesels in the past (pre Bongo days) and the symptoms you describe appears to be the stop solenoid malfunctioning. The stop solenoid apparently is the thing that activates when you turn the ignition off, it actually cuts off the supply of diesel (instead of the electricity on a petr...

I had my washer bottle out yesterday for a different problem. I have submitted a post on how I got it out. See 'smelly washer bottle'.

Smelly washer bottle

Since buying my Bongo the washer bottle stank of stagnant water. I have been meaning to do something about it so yesterday I sorted it and thought I would put what I did in print in case it was use to anyone else with a similar problem. My vehicle is one with the winter pack, with two batteries fitt...

I can imagine quite a few members looking at your post and wondering what the is best way to advise you. I would be thinking how long he has had it and has it any sort of service history. What prompted him to take the rad cap off in the first place because the coolant level is plainly visible in the...

If you say your van is running very well then I wouldn't yet go to the expense of touching the injectors. Try the cheap options first. You havn't mentioned if its got a clean air filter. A blocked air filter will raise fuel consumption. Also after a run feel the wheel centres and see if any of them ...

You are probably right, it was this thread from last year which I had read. http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3407&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=tappets There seems to be some confusion as to whether they are hydraulic or not. Need someone with a wor...

I thought I'd read somewehere that the valves were hydraulic, so no need to adjust.

Just by chance actually. I've been keeping the hatch shut when raising the roof. I raised the roof right to the top, still beeping, so I got in the back of the van, pressed the button again, still beeping, raised the roof hatch, beeping stopped.

Just another slant on this. Mine kept on beeping when apparently fully raised until I opened the roof hatch. Then the beeping stopped. It seemed that the suction effect was preventing it raising that last bit, enough to cancel the alarm. Once I lifted the hatch the beeping stopped. When raising or l...

I'm sure I've read recently that a hot handbrake is a symptom of the scavenger fan not working. If you scroll down on this page you will see a link called 'Scavenger fan'. This explains how you can test if its working.

Thanks for that, so the nearside one I currently have is defunct other than for starting in cold weather and all the interior power is routed to the offside battery. Have I got that right?

Bongo batteries

Hi all, I've searched on the site and although there is plenty of information regarding fitting leisure batteries I cannot find the answer to my questions. There is also very little in the Bongo users manual. My bongo already has two batteries, which look to have been fitted as standard. The nearsid...
