Re: Air conditioner compressor clutch
Yep. Replacement compressor fitted, re-gassed and is now blowing cold…. Almost too cold!

Re: Air conditioner compressor clutch
Having removed the rear heater/aircon matrix thing in mine and capping the pipes off, I took it to a local garage who tested for leaks. After ascertaining that there were no leaks (yay!) they re-gassed it. All for £80. Might be worth getting the same done with yours. The compressor was making some ...

Seat fabric swap
I bought a swivelling 2nd row the other week after much searching BUT it’s got different fabric on it to the other ones in the van. It looks to me like the fabric is held on with little metal clips. Has anyone successfully (or not!) changed the fabric covering to their seats? And off yes, any tips?

Re: Air conditioner compressor clutch
Thanks Geoff
I can’t find a compressor love love nor money to replace it with so I might have to take it apart and have a tinker with it. Like you say, if the belts off then I can’t damage anything else.

Re: Air conditioner compressor clutch
I see. Thanks for that. So the wheel should turn freely until the clutch is activated and connects the wheel to the shaft and drives the compressor? So if I touch 12+ onto the wire going to L13, I should see/hear the electro magnet activating? Assuming it’s not broken.

Air conditioner compressor clutch
I believe that the clutch on my air conditioning compressor is seized but as I have no experience of these things, I’m not sure if it’s doing what it’s meant to or not! It had no belt on it when I bought it. When I turn the wheel that the belt would normally go around, it spins quite freely. But the ...

Thermostat replacement
Evening all
I am changing the thermostat on my 2004 2l petrol Bongo as the old one was stuck open. I’ve got a new thermostat and gasket. I’ve drained all the coolant out. I’ve removed the old thermostat…. But the old gasket is stuck pretty fast onto either side of the thermostat housing (see ...

Re: Double seats
Hi gilly
Thanks for coming back to me. Do you know who did your conversion?
Oh yeah, that’s pretty much what I assumed. The seats on the above Bongo also spin round which is pretty neat. I suppose after the seats have been cut n shut, it’s a case of moving the floor rails over. I can see why some ...

Double seats
I’ve just seen a Bongo on Autotrader with 6 seats… driver and passenger up front, then two rows of two seats behind. Have these seats been cut n shut from a couple of trebles?

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but I’m looking at fitting a tow bar to me Bongo but am struggling to find one that will definitely fit…. The link in the above doesn't work. Anyone else got any other options that have worked for them? I’m happy to have a go at fitting it myself. It’s ...
