Re: V6 Cannot switch of side/dash/tail lights

Update:

Burnt out loom.

Some cleaver person before me (probably in Japan as I am the first owner here), had wired in the radio with a wire not big enough to take the current. Odd that it has taken 3 years to manifest itself in this way. It explains the smoke in the cab and the smell of burning ...

V6 Cannot switch of side/dash/tail lights

Hi,

V6 year 1999 (T)

I dont know if anyone has any ideas here, I am unable to switch off the Side/Tail/Dash lights, without disconnecting the battery. I have removed the relays just above the near side wheel arch, hoping it was a stuck relay, but this did not work.

i guess there must be a mains ...

Re: Lights????

Do the main front lights work ? My money's on the switch / stalk, the brass contacts in the roller get dirty / worn, Ford's of the era also suffer with this, place a rag around the roller and squirt some electrical cleaner in there, let it penetrate turn the lights off and on 20 times and see if ...

Re: V6 exhaust system

Glad to hear its sorted Terry.

Its a good question though.

Does anyone know if it is it possible to source an exhaust system from the front pipe to the back for a V6?

Yes, Allan did a great job, really pleased. Year and a half later still looks like it has been recently done !

Re: Another towbar electrics question

In the end I ran a piece of black ribbed conduit (you can buy in B&Q) from one side to the other of the Bong on top of the tow bar. I prefer to run electrics in something, rather than have loose unsecured cables. It sits there quite happily between the bar and the bumper because you have to push it ...

Another towbar electrics question

There is a lot of very useful information on here about towbars and fitting them, but I am still a little hazy as to where you actually run the electrics / cables from the towbar socket.

Do you run them under the carpet holder at the rear, or behind the bumper, or is there a void I can use ...

Re: Rear Wheel Arches - can anyone help

This is a pic of a bongo with these thin plastic arches you see sometimes, which looks like an excellent solution.
I am not sure who the owner is, so I hope they dont mind me posting a pic,
but I would love to know what arches these are and where you can get them done.

Re: V6 petrol Bongo Cambelt kit

Happy conclusion to this, took it to Allan’s and had the cam belt changed, seals done including crankshaft oil seal. Also had it Wax oiled and under sealed and serviced.

Thanks for the contributions to this thread guys

Engine running well and ready for a summer of fun. 8)

Re: V6 petrol Bongo Cambelt kit

Hi and thanks for the replies.

Yes i was looking for the cambelt kit because there is seepage round the cambelt cover, so I guess the seals will need doing.

My v6 has done about 80K Kilometres. The rocker cover gaskets are leaking slightly as well. I have the “V6 smell” which started my ...
