V6 Cannot switch of side/dash/tail lights

Hi,

V6 year 1999 (T)

I dont know if anyone has any ideas here, I am unable to switch off the Side/Tail/Dash lights, without disconnecting the battery. I have removed the relays just above the near side wheel arch, hoping it was a stuck relay, but this did not work.

i guess there must be a mains short before the stork switch in the cab and after the relay.

Anyone got any ideas where this might be? Or any other ideas gratefully received?

There was a rubbery smell coming from towards the back of the engine on the drivers side, I guess that may be the first place to look.

Update:

Burnt out loom.

Some cleaver person before me (probably in Japan as I am the first owner here), had wired in the radio with a wire not big enough to take the current. Odd that it has taken 3 years to manifest itself in this way. It explains the smoke in the cab and the smell of burning!

Had it still got the original (radio2) Japanese radio .. or an 'all station' UK one ..??
