Re: Heater Blower again
If you have climate control (not the manual controls) then the "resistor pack" is actually a transistor controlled by the Aircon ECU. If the fan only runs on MAX then it's likely this is broken because on max it is bypassed by a relay. Its plugged into connector G3-04 on this wiring diagra...

Re: fiamma f45,some help please,
I got our van with the awning fitted but it has been fine on motorway trips, no sign of moving etc. It uses 2 brackets, one at each end - I can send you some photos via email if you like? One problem is that the rear window does not open due to the bracket overlapping but I think a bit of careful re...

Re: Mechanics have run out of ideas on how to fix cooling sy
In a previous life (VW Golf!) I had a problem with the fan not coming on. I diagnosed by temporarily fitting a switch to activate the fan manually which proved that if I turned it on the temp would stay under control. Since the senders are quite expensive it might be worth trying this first.

I would try the 1.1 cap as a cheap quick test

Re: Courtesy Lights
Forgot to say, LEDs obviously only work one way round so if they don't light up just turn them round. You may need to adjust the wire tails on the W5W bulbs - look into the bulbholder, check where the metal contacts are and bend the wires so they are in the right position (it's obvious when you do i...

Re: Bongo help Gloucestershire, dumping coolant
Good call - always best to start with the simple stuff!widdowson2008 wrote:I know it sounds obvious, but have you checked the expansion tank cap? Should be rated at 1.1 bar. If it has failed, then it WILL dump coolant from the tank. Cheap fix too.

Re: Bongo help Gloucestershire, dumping coolant
Would it be worth doing a compression test, I'd guess that would indicate if the head gasket was leaking....
Also it may be worth running with the reservoir cap off to see if bubbles of gas come out, again this could be a sign of leaks from the cylinders into the cooling system

Installing an actuator for central locking
Just done this - took about 2 hours all in. I have done a PDF writeup with photos but not sure how to post attachments on the forum (can anyone advise?) - in the mean time if you want a copy let me know and I can email it

Re: Trickle Charge main battery
A related question - I have a leisure battery with smart relay. If I want to charge the leisure battery do I need to pull the fuse between the output of the smart relay and the battery to avoid damaging the smart relay or will it be OK? Or am I just better off connecting the charger to the main batt...

Re: Grill options
Sorry away from home at the moment so no photos... I sprayed mine with Simoniz Acrylic car paint - Satin Black. It has come out really nicely, retaining the slight surface texture on the grillle but covering nicely. Before starting the grille was a muddy grey colour - I think it may originally have ...

Re: Bongo Maschine v1.0
I've been thinking of doing an Arduino project to read the ECU error codes, looks like the hardware you have here would do the job nicely. Time to visit the shops for some components methinks!
