Ford Freda 2002 2L Petrol
Our silver unconverted Ford Freda (without hi-top) with 70,900 miles or so has had a MOT failure and a high estimate to put everything right. We're not mechanically minded and so would be happy to consider any offer from someone who could collect. It's been running really well and has been serviced ...

Torque
Just spent an hour in Kwikfit having a puncture repaired. Puncture took 5 minutes, the rest of the time was the staff trying to find the torque settings which despite various phone calls they couldn't find. They eventually did it at 120 nm. Not sure if this correct though. Anybody know the correct f...

Re: Whoosing, clattery sound
The coolant level is fine. On investigation I discovered the clip holding the bonnet support rod had failed and the rod was lying loose. I think this accounts for the clatter as all I have now is a whirring noise which increases as the revs increase and disappears once the engine is warm.

Re: Whoosing, clattery sound
Thanks for replies. Only started a couple of days ago. How urgent do you think this may be (I know that depends on what it is but I have to make a trip in a few days).

Whoosing, clattery sound - 2L
Hi All Wonder if anyone can diagnose why I am getting a clattery, whoosing sound from under the bonnet when I start my 2.0 petrol Freda. It goes off after a while once the engine has warmed up and is worse at lower speed/higher revs. I'm guessing something to do with coolant system, belts or starter...

Brake Light failure
I have a 2001/2 Ford Freda with the new style lighting cluster. Both brake lights have failed at once but the strip brake light at the top of the rear door is still working. Is this likely to be a fuse or are they all on the same fuse in which case it must be something else? How so I go about sourci...

Re: Reversing Light Under Water
Thanks for the suggestions. Does anyone have an idiot's guide to removing the back light cluster?

Reversing Light Under Water
Hi
This has probably been dealt with in another post but I couldn't find anything through a search. My 2001 Freda has several inches of water in the reversing light. How do I access this to remove water and prevent it happening again?
Thanks all
Paul

Re: Hand Brake Indicator Light On
Not sure. As I said it wasn't indicating low as such, but somewhere between min and max. I will keep an eye on it to try to work out if there is more of a problem.
Thanks for all the contributions.

Re: Hand Brake Indicator Light On
It turns out that the simplest explanation was correct. My brake fluid needed topped-up, even though the reservoir indicator was okay.
Thanks for all your help.

Re: Hand Brake Indicator Light On
Thanks for that. My brake fluid reservoir is about half way between the min and max marks, so I thought that was okay, but I will try topping up anyway to see if that gets rid of the problem.

Thanks for all your suggestions. Fluid and pads seem okay, so will check the connection.
