Is it possible to use aftermarket electric window switches ? Available on ebay for a fraction of the original cost.

Has anyone done this and how hard is it ?

Hi

Try spraying loads of electrical contact cleaner ( available from Halfords for approx £3.99 for a large tin! ) all over the motor ect. I've had no ends of 'stuck' electrics on our Bongo .... horn press's / rear blind switches to name a few .... all working 100% now thanks to a quick spray with ...

electric windows

My driver window was working intermitantly but has now stopped altogether. :?

Have checked the wiring and all seems well, getting power to the electric motor connector but the motor not working. :(

Is there a fix for this :?:

I didn't want to add to the confusion until you got it running, but now you have, keep an eye on the back of the pump where you first saw the fuel drip because the seals you have replaced may not be the full story.

There is an internal seal between the pumping section of the pump and the ...

I connected an air powered brake bleed vacuum to the pipe that returns fuel to tank and bobs your uncle.

Seems like there was air in there that could not get out.

I will take her for a run tonight to try her out.

As far as i know the seals were not pinched on reassembley.

And the spring and shims were put back exactly as removed.

The fuel stop solenoid has 10.3volts going to it ( does that sound right ) when the ignition is switched.

I can feel the solenoid click when ignition is switched on.

This Bongo dont want to start.

Have put new filter on filled with diesel, cleaned the small wire mesh strainer on the fuel input.

Fully charged battery but this baby dont want to go.

And it all started with me changing the two o rings on the pump to cure ...

Yes I have given it some gas but still no start.

No I have not got a pela pump but hope to get it going in the morning.

Just checked fuses all seem ok, all cabin lights working (fuse no1 10 amp)
Engine management ( fuse no 9 15 amp)
Will sleep on it and have another go tomorrow.

New solenoid fitted Bongo still no play. :oops:

Battery flat now , on charge start again tomorrow. :D
