ABS/4WD Light

Post by Bingly Bingly Bongo » Wed Dec 27, 2006 11:23 am

I've noticed that the ABS/4WD light has been on since I did my cambelt. Does anyone know if there may be a wire that has been disconnected or is it something serious - the handbook says to "take immediately to a Mazda dealer". The brakes work fine - it has passed an MOT since the light's been on - so I don't know if it's brakes or ABS. Any ideas??

Don't have an answer to your question Bingly - but tell us your MOT station and we can all go there!!!

Well, it's been wet today, up 'ere in th'ills, so I tried the the brakes hard, on a down hill bit. The wheels locked up. Ergo, ABS not working, me thinks. Another job to do!

have you tied the fuse in the engine bay?, its 100 amp, if this is ok have you tried to turn off the engine then back on again? this sometimes turns the light back off, especially in wet conditions.

if these dont work then there is some kind of sensor (1 in each wheel hub) one of theses might have gone/broke.
