Having spend a few hours under the van dealing with some minor rust patches, I have decided to buy a set of ramps to make access easier. There are 2 requirements: 2 ton capacity (min) & be able to take a 215 wide tyre. I have so far tried Halfords, but their standard model is only suitable for tyre widths up to 185, and Machine Mart who don't list them on their website.
Anyone got any recommendations on suitable ramps, or where to look please?

ramps
I use a set I bought at a boot sale for a few quid dont have any problems as being 4 wheel drive the van drives up the ramps. It is easy compared with using axle stands. Ideal for oil changes or working on the engine saves bending over.

Thanks for the advice so far. Motorwizard, is there any indication of make / model?
I have got a couple of sets of heavy duty axle stands already & a suitable trolley jack which do the job I need, but I'm looking at the ramp option as a quick way to get started doing some work underneath on these cold dark nights, where time is at a premium.

Where to put axle stands
Having jacked up the van, where is the best place to put an axle stand, to avoid bending anything. Obviously it can't be the jacking point as the jack is already using it.
Thanks
Thanks
I use ramps - they're very useful too. No idea about their provenance - they're a bit rusty but sound and a neighbour was chucking them out so I had them. No problems - but then I do only have 195 tyres...
Surely Mr Google can find you something suitable?
Re. the jacking/axle stand point query - I think the user manual lists jacking points - from memory I think it might show several so that you can both jack and prop safely. Might be wrong though....

You have 195 tyres...?...by my calculation that means you have 48 tyres for each wheel plus 3 for the spare.....you need never buy tyres again Tigger......tigger wrote:I use ramps - they're very useful too.
