Newbie - weld-in wheel arch

Post by Ronaldo55 » Tue Jun 03, 2025 11:27 am

Hi, joined almost 3- years ago, learnt so much from your fab site.
Bongo Friendee 2L petrol 2005. Chassis no starts GE.
We need a right rear weld-in wheel arch repair. I believe some old posts said Mercedes Sprinter 95-06 is the best fit.
Is this still the case ? Is this one on eBay correct ? https://ebay.us/m/F4NM0C
Anyone know of others ?
Thanks
Ronnie

You might find these are better as they are replacements designed for the Bongo https://bongospares.co.uk/shop/p/body-p ... eel%20arch

Many thanks Geoff. Are these recent ? I don’t recall seeing them before.

I keep this list of companies based on reviews and comments I see at various sites;
These companies do a range of spares & repairs, not all will have everything so try them all;
For smaller parts its probably best to ring companies as not all the smaller parts make it on to the web sites!

I’ve heard the Mercedes Sprinter arches are a pretty good fit for the Bongo Friendee, and it’s nice to see that someone’s still recommending them. As for the eBay link, it looks like it could be a solid option, but definitely worth checking the seller’s reviews and confirming the exact measurements before you go ahead.

I used the Bongo Spares ones on my repair when they first started selling them about 2 years ago and can recommend.

I never liked the look of the sprinter ones. So often if not adjusted properly to fit they look odd. But that's just my opinion and they can be made to look ok, just very often places don't take the time top adjust them to the correct profile.

The Bongo Spares ones just fit. Yes they are more expensive than Sprinter but are also the correct shape so would probably save that in labour.
