I have a 2002 2.5V6 Bongo, my first campervan and not really mechanicly savvy. When I have the temperature controls on the front console set to ‘on’ (fan speed) and ‘rear’ (LED illuminated) and I operate the rear temperature controls, although the lights on the panel illuminate when functions are selected (flow direction/fan speed), this doesn’t seem to have any effect on the flow rate or temp? Also, where does the air flow come into the back from? Is it the set of vents mounted high on the ceiling just behind the front seats? The flow from this is barely noticeable at best. Hoping some of the Bongo Gurus in here can help. Thx

Rear Heater not working (think?)

Re: Rear Heater not working (think?)
The air flow is sucked in at floor level internally on the offside of the van and is pumped out thru the grids at head level behind the front seats. If the van has been converted or there have been pipe corrosions problems its common to disconnect/remove the entire rear aircon module.

Re: Rear Heater not working (think?)
Thx for the info Geoff. When you say sucked in at floor level, I have a opening with a removable cover (FIAMMA embossed on the cover), which has a hose connected to it which runs under the rear bench seat and then into the base of the fitted cabinet. Could this be the air inlet that draws the air in? I’ve checked behind the rear panel and it’s all still connected and the controls and LEDS seem to display the right indications, there’s just no air flow or a minimal flow rate coming through. I’ve noticed there are a couple of 30A fuses under the bonnet marked ‘heater’, are these possibly linked Geoff?

No the lower grills are just slitted air intakes part of the original Bongo not an add on part like a Fiamma extra! They will have been built into the original plastic side panels but possibly removed during conversion but not always.
