2L alternator adjustment bolt

Post by hawko » Sun Feb 02, 2025 10:38 am

Hi all, just a quick one for my 2L bongo.

Was trying to adjust the alternator belt tension, but the locking nut is in really bad shape and all marred up. Does anyone know the specs of that nut so I can get a replacement before trying to get the old one off?
Seems like it might be 12mm hex but not sure what size thread it would be.
This is all presuming that nut just comes off and it's not some special long bolt or something?

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Cheers,

Any clues peeps?

Really want to be able to tighten the belt to get rid of squeak but I can't do anything until I get a new locking nut figured out for it :|

If you look up the diagram linked below and click on the bolt involved then the table top left will open up, the full part number can then be looked up on Google, it won't tell you the dimensions but it will list suppliers I'm guessing its the 15-966 bolt ?

Thanks a lot for that!

Figured out its 999400801 that I need. Searched it up and a genuine one is rather expensive so might try find a flanged nut if I can manage to measure the post it goes onto for the size of it. Fingers crossed
