Hi all
I have been having a frustrating time with a local garage - been great in the past - who have been trying to fix a leak eminating from the gearbox sump. They identified it was the gasket that needed replacing but as no official part has been availbale they have made their own. This has been done three times, each time no improvement. The latest attempt seemed better but the leak is still there, even though they added some sealant.... They claim to have looked for other leaks and are clear the sump is not mishapen or similar.
What I would appreciate some help with is any ideas on other possible problems but also if anyone knows any specialist service garages or specialist mechanics in the South West are I can get another opinion. I am in Stroud, Gloucestershire.
The van is a Ford Freda automatic, petrol, V6 - 1998.
Appreciate any help, many thanks. David

Its not uncommon to have a leak but not normally a massive problem to cure either ...
