1999 Bongo 2.5 V6 petrol NYC

Post by Joey-78692 » Wed Aug 21, 2024 1:59 pm

Hi I just had my 1999 2.5 V6 Petrol. Bongo imported in to the USA, its got a 107,000 KM and is in overall in good condition. Other than a few things that i need to get done for its Anual safety Inspection (MOT)

It needs all round Brake disks and Pads
Both front shocks absorbers
Both rear Struts (Dampers)

However i seem to be getting in difficulty about Parts, I was under the impression i would be able to find the parts here in the usa as they may have been used in other Mazda products but to no avail. Every time i search online with the mazda part number only seems to get links with parts in the UK ebay or a site called mazdabongo.com

Are there any other compatible parts numbers i should be using that would be compatible to parts in the US? I know Mazda sold the B series pickup truck here as well, also the Bongo has the same engine as the Mazda 626 that was sold here. Any help or advice would be great, thank you.

Hi Joey,

The brakepads and the brake discs are common to all types of Bongo. The pads are found on a Mazda MPV and the discs on an E series panel van.

Take a look at this discussion: viewtopic.php?t=14881

Other resources you might want to use are www.yoyoparts.com and www.partsouq.com. The latter is especially usefuld for identifying the Mazda part number and armed with that you should be able to obtain parts that are not compatible with other vehicles direct from Mazda or a parts broker like www.amayama.com.

Shocks and dampers are available from www.mazdabongo.com at reasonable prices but you will pay import duty.

Service items (filters, belts etc) are available from www.bongoland.co.uk but send an email first to check on freight costs.

The V6 Bongo shares the same engine as the Mazda 929 (2.5 litre) but production ceased in 1994. This firm are very good at providing parts for 929s: www.rockauto.com

Finally the Mazda Bongo parts catalog is online and you can find it at https://lushprojects.com/bongopartsmk2/

Hope this helps.
