Routing solar cables with aftermarket pop top

Hi folks.
I'm installing a solar panel to feed into the Bongo to charge an Ecoflow River 2 Max. My roof is an aftermarket one from Bongospares. Should I cut through the top of the roof into the pop top space to run the cables or go under the roof overhang and through the metal van body then chase the cables through the plastic trim? Both have potential to leak. What have others done? Thanks. ( nervous)

Welcome aboard!
On the standard AFT its drill thru into the area at the rear OUTSIDE the tent space and then because there are already electrical cables for operating the roof I passed the solar panel cables down the same rubber grommet thru the metal roof and into the internal roof space before feeding down into the rear cupboard where my controller is situated.
