Rough idle/stall when warm

Hi,

I've had an issue for the last couple of months that when driven for a while my bongo will start to struggle and sometimes stall when breaking to a stop in Drive. If I put the gear into Neutral or Park then the revs increase a little and it mitigates the problem. Obviously when breaking for junctions and looking to quickly move away this isn't a viable option.

Has anyone experienced this? If so any ideas what I ask my garage to look at?

To confirm when cold the revs stay higher and it doesn't occur.

Thanks in advance,
Michael

Can you confirm which engine ?
A common cause for all engines is a blocked fuel cap vent, if you take the cap off and pull apart the spring loaded vent and give it a clean it may be the problem the caps are similar to below;

Hi Geoff,

Thanks for the quick reply.

It's a V6 2.5L Petrol. I do have an LPG conversion and the problem is consistent on both fuels. Not sure if that rules out the fuel cap hypothesis?

In that case I would assume it does rule it out ;-)
I'm not a mechanic but would myself take a look at other common things, air filter and ignition system as its a V6 check the spark plug wells for oil gathering in them from a loose cylinder head bolt(s) or a leaking gasket.

I'll check that out.
