Hi,

Has anyone mounted a LPG underslung torpedo tank on the N/S space (where a 4x4 would have the transfor box). I think people generally go for the donut instead of the spare type but I need a relatively small tank for the fridge and cooker.

Looks to be space but I wondering about the mounts people may have used.

What are you referring to LPG for ? A diesel engine isn't the normally converted for LPG working ?
For Propane or Butane for cooking / heating then its normally the standard bottles and regulator.

Yes I have a diesel so its not converting the engine to run on gas.

I would like to be able to carry more gas than I can today with a portable 2.75kg gas bottle. So looking at fixing a permanent tank to feed my gas appliances.

Also as space internally is at a premium, then I would have more cupboard space where my existing gas bottle is stored.

I know it all needs certifying, just curious if anyone has information/recommendations on mounting the tank.

Can't say I have heard of it being done merely for cooking/heating as you will need to consider both filling requirements and also an evaporation unit as you will be feeding the actual LPG and not the already evaporated gas via a regulator to the equipment.

Yes plenty of people do it on other kinds of vans in particular and I can find specifically made mounting brackets for fiat, peugeot, VW, ford etc etc.

Yes, you install a filler point and the tank has a one way valve and auto cut off so you do not over fill (>80%) then a output valve that goes to your reg before going to your stop valve and appliances.

I can see the sense of this, Bongos are small and every bit of storage counts.

Do bear in mind fewer garages are doing lpg so may be difficult to obtain.
