Rubber hoses and connectors above glowplugs

Post by Trekker12 » Sat Feb 12, 2022 7:01 pm

Hi,

I took the glowplugs out earlier today. In order to access them I had to move a plate above the two rearmost plugs. On this plate are a couple of electrical plugs and some thin rubber hoses.

The hoses are really brittle, one snapped as I moved the plate. Can I buy standard rubber hose for these or is it a specific Mazda part?

Also, the two wires (which are also pretty brittle) into one of the electrical plugs came out of the plug, is it possible to reattach them?

What do all these bits do? I believe they are what is referred to as ‘gubbins’ in the glowplug data sheet.

Sounds like vacuum hoses to me, take a sample to a motor parts outlet/motor factors and buy a length to replace the lot, the wire will need replaced too, theres usually a small plastic tongue type thing in the connector to depress to remove the wires you'll need to renew the wires affected and crimp a new end on before pushing it back into the slot it came out of.
