Immobilising Bongo to prevent theft (waiting on TOAD unit to be fitted)

Hi. There's been a bit of a Bongo crime wave in my area recently and I'm waiting for a proper immobiliser to be fitted. In the meantime, what's the best temporary solution? I only have street parking.

Can I remove safely remove the fuse for something like the ignition, ECU or fuel pump (and if so, in very simple terms, which are those!)?

Or is this a bad idea...?

cheers
Stu

I remember when I was moving some circuits over to the leisure battery, that when one of the fuses was removed the dash didn't come in and then it wouldn't start. Can't quite remember which though.

Fairly easy to get round though, but might slow them down I guess.

Disklok over the steering wheel is a relatively cheap solution or the pedal box locks.

Good tips above, and have a Google for 'battery isolator switch'.

Several types, anything to make it harder for the scum.

Simple answer is yes! There are fact sheets available or look at what has been reported before, but it varies by engine type etc.
