Watched a video earlier about earth problems which reminded me to ask about a couple of problems my Mother has with her Bongo (2.5TD Auto).
If you indicate right, the speedometer stops working.
I presume this is an earth fault, so I was wondering bar the battery terminals where we should look to fix the problem. She did have it in at a local garage for the last MOT/Service and they also tried to find out why it was happening but were unable to find the fault and recommended taking it to an auto-electrician.
On another subject, is there any way of tightening up the swivel light switch at the end of the indicator stalk?
If you indicate left you can catch the switch without being aware of it and turn off all your lights. Obviously now being aware of this you just make sure to check that your lights are still on, but bar a new stalk is there any fix for it?
Thanks.

There are several earthing points around the vehicle, start with the one by the drivers left foot behind the small panel on the central console; check the individual connectors and the bolt to chassis.

Take off the front grill then you may see a group of Earth's down low near the drivers side headlight, these are really in the weather zone and usually corrode badly, strip and clean may sort your indicator prob.
