Heater issue - only works when set to 32c

Hi. My 2.5 petrol Bongo (2000) has a strange heater issue. The front and footwells only blow hot when the digital heating control is set to 32c. The window vent seems to blow correctly, ie according to the value set.
The AC works correctly and air blows as controlled by the fan button.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Try cleaning the sensor, often cures the problem for many, see here for details

Notwithstanding faults, the heating system seems to work in a quirky fashion and seems to actually blow differing temperature air from different vents when at certain set temperatures. Detailed in many posts and the translated handbook.

Thanks. I removed the sensor and gave it a clean. One of the 4 'sprongly' springs had detached from the main body of the sensor, so I soldered it back on. But soldering isnt my strong point, so not sure if I made a proper connection, it's pretty fiddly. Any idea if only having 3 of the 4 sensors connected could could this issue?
Next, I'll check all the connections by the drivers left foot, they seem OK.
Definitely getting air of the correct temperature from the windows and foot vents, just the dashboard vents seem to have the issue.

Yes the Jap's don't like hot air blowing in the eyes, so hot air only comes out from the footwell or on the windscreen.
