Diesel Heater in 2L petrol

I'm planning on fitting a Diesel heater into my bongo, just wondering if anyone has any tips for fitting into a 2L petrol? Hoping to put the heater under the passenger seat, and thinking of squeezing a tiny diesel tank under the bonnet. Anyone done similar? Haven't found a suitable tank yet, but looks like 2.5L should give me 20hrs of heat, which seems plenty
I've seen the Ebersapcher factsheets (which are great btw), but things look a little different under my passenger seat. I've got some stuff on the nearside chassis rail, not quite sure what it is, thinking maybe a fuel filter?
Cheers
Ali

I believe go-cart fuel tanks are commonly used under the bonnet, just in front of the driver.

Dont think its a good idea to fit/install a diesel burner anywhere near Highly inflammable liquids.

The cannister is part of the EGR system for venting gases, I think most people move all those bits in-board of the support, then you can attach the heater to the outside area.

Thanks for the tip about go-cart tanks, that'll be something easier to search for
Agreed about the flammable liquids, I won't be putting it anywhere near any fuel lines

That's really why I'm asking what's there. May have to relocate some stuff, or perhaps that location's not viable on the petrols? The exhaust manifold is on that side of the engine, so there are already hot parts around. Was thinking to mount heater on top of the rail with the ports on the engine side, and shift the existing bits along a bit
Interested if anyone's put one elsewhere. Originally I was going to use on of the boxes over the rear arches we have in our conversion, but that means losing storage. And I'd rather keep the combustion outside the living space. Think I did hear of someone with one under the bonnet, but I imagine that was where our leisure battery is.

Took too long to type that last one
Thanks Geoff, that's great

I’ve just finished install in my v6 under passenger seat. Had to move the EGR tank you highlighted plus ignition coil and some wiring which sits in the same area on the v6. Tank is a 2.5l plastic sat between battery and aircon, just above air intake under bonnet
I’ll get you a couple of pictures tomorrow but as you have way less stuff in 2 L it should just be a case of moving the tank to the bottom of you picture. Only thing I haven’t sussed is exhaust routing - when the heater was fitting my previous diesel exhaust just finished behind slide door but I’ve fitted under vehicle water tank on my v6 which is mostly in the way so going to try and get it to offside instead as that’s better anyway

I realy dont want to put you off fitting your diesel burner , as long as there are no vapour or spirit leaks .A lot of Insurance Companies are now insisting that automatic Fire extinguishing systems are fitted .Good luck.

Fuel pump on water pipe bracket (not the best picture)
Fuel tank
Under seat before

The EGR tank moved - I’ve seen other installs where this wasn’t necessary and everything was just squeezed in but because I wanted to route outlet to center console this was the best way for me
Finished setup (pending longer air intake hose, old one wasn’t long enough)

Fantastic, looks like a neat install, thanks for sharing it. Fuel tank fits in there really nicely - what's it attached to?

It’s attached to black bracket you can see to left of air shroud thing. Its just a bit of aluminium with a couple of folds to add a bit of stiffness. Some of the weight will undoubtably be taken up by the engine air intake too as it does sit on it
