Hi all,

I've just picked up a new to me 1996 Mazda Bongo Camper and it has a few issues that I'd like to tinker with to sort. So apologies for the multiple posts, I just thought it would be easier to track this way.

My centre light (not the ATF light) is very dim, how can I get access behind the light potentially change the bulb and also measure the voltage that's reaching it?

Thanks in advance

If it’s the rear cabin light you’re talking about, carefully the plastic clear cover with small screw driver, then remove the 4 screws holding it to roof, you can then access the connector. The connector should be 12v, ground and switched connections. It’s common to replace the bulb with LEDs with some slight modification (a forum search should help)

For replacing the fluorescent tube with LED's see below;

There are two styles the older straight tube variety see these pictures;

and the more recent "U" tube style;
