Hi
I've tried the search , and fully expected the answer to come up as "Three bananas and a rice pudding"....The search for the ATF capacity of the autobox came up as ....well....just think of anything other than ATF.....but at least I know where to go camping in summer, to enjoy screaming brats despoiling a nice campsite, AND where I can buy a top-box on Amazon, but how many litres of ATF in the trans.....???....YES, I did put "and" between words
Cheers,
Helen

Some thoughts on here:

Scroll down to Alacrity's post and the one below, he knows what he's about with auto boxes.

Otherwise it's bananas and rice pudding. Yum. 8)

Hi
Thanks, Bob, I had an idea it was around 7 litres somewhere...Just curious, as I topped mine up today, and it seemed to take a lot.Not only is the search going bonkers, I can't delete messages to pick up new private messages  :?
Cheers

Its in here http://www.g8dhe.net/bongo_images/mazda ... ttings.htm
between 8.6 and 9.8l depending on version, but it doesn't all come out by draining, has to be forced out from the torque converter where it pools.

I love that you have to change it 60,000 times under severe conditions. :D

Hi
Thanks, Geoff...It was more of a query,as my gear changing got a bit notchy, and it struggled to get on the drive...I put a litre in, and it's a bit better, and I'll check tomorrow...It doesn't seem too much of a loss considering the total volume of fluid, so I'm not too bothered...No smell and cherry red fluid on the end of the dipstick, I don't run the fluid through the radiator, as I run it through a separate unit.
I might do a thrash round Europe next year, so I'm checking everything...I swapped the battery for a new one...it wasn't that, so I think the slow start is the fuel pump...I will do that anyway.
Cheers
Helen

Its the level when its all spinning and being churned around that is important, the static level means very little at all as the volume in the torque converter increases once its spinning hence reducing the level in the rest of the system.

Yes, thanks Geoff

Selected messages to delete, clicked 'Detete selected', comes up 'The submited form was invalid'.

Never had that before. :?
