Load on roof rack
I’m after a roof rack and roof box but am wondering if it might prove more trouble than it’s worth with an AFT. Would it be possible to elevate the AFT with a full roof box (assume a normal weight) on the roof?
Re: Load on roof rack
NO! Empty the roofbox before lifting, whilst the roof itself might take the load the strain on the motors and the Teleflex cables is asking for troubles.
A lot of us find the backboxes on a towbar is as good, lower level and easier than a trailer.

I agree++. People will tell you they've had no issues but personally i'd treat the AFT with kid gloves. Its not almost if but when they give age related trouble anyway i reckon and it can be very inconvenient if/when that happens. If you do fit a roofbox, mount it towards the rear of the AFT to minimise the work/strain on the lifting gear.g8dhe wrote: Sat Dec 21, 2019 10:56 pm NO!
