Original Kitchen / Half Seat Rails

Hi all,
This is my first, but I'm sure not my last, post!
I've just picked up my first Bongo and it is fitted with an original kitchen pod and to maximise the interior space the guy i bought it from has turned the bench seat to face the rear. I quite like this arrangement however this renders the two three-point seatbelts useless so the bench, when facing to the back, has the lap belt only.
If I'm going on a journey and intend to take a few passengers It may be useful to spin the bench seat to the front so, before i start unbolting things, does anyone know if its possible to slide the seat runners off of the rails when the japanese kitchen pod is installed? The rail seems to be rather close to the pod and if it's a case of having to remove the pod to just take the runners off then I'll give it a miss!
Thanks in advance
