Intermittent electrics

Post by tain » Thu Jun 27, 2019 11:18 am

Hi guys..

Wonder if anyone can help.

Yesterday, my Ford Freda/Bongo lost central locking, radio, interior lights, mirrors... I thought it was a fuse (Fuse 1?)

Today.. they are working fine .. so is everything except the heater to back doesn't work now.

I recently had both batteries tested on a cheap portable tester .. the main battery showed medium and no record on the leisure... today, both are testing positive and fully charged... not sure if this is related...

The leisure battery powers all internal lights..

fuses /relay?

Any help /ideas be great before I take it to an Auto electrical place...

Cheers

Tain

I had a similar problem a few weeks ago. It turned out to be a cracked main engine fuse, the blue 100 amp one, which was no longer making a full connection.

Thanks Ian...

She normally fires aok but very sluggish to turn over today... got it started finally..

I'll locate a fuse and replace.. see what happens.. thought it might be alternator initially...

beeping for key in ignition not working either...

Is this random or have you fixed anything? 8)

It's random... never happened before.

I'll change main fuse first, then go from there.

Also checkout the -ve connection of the LB to the chassis if the vehicle, if this is faulty then no circuits would be working.
Double check that the TWO charging fuses that connect the batteries to each side of the charging relay are OK.
