New to me bongo - coolant - 2.0 Petrol

Post by ognob » Mon Dec 31, 2018 9:05 pm

Purchased a new bongo, pick it up next weekend 2.0 petrol 2005

I like to know where I stand so I always do (or get done, depending on time) the basics

I’m thinking new oil and filter on day 1

Some time after another oil change

Cam belt

Coolant flush - it’s a free year colour, should I be flushing it out and replacing it with what, has anyone got a eurocarparts number to reference

With regards to a cam belt change, what should I be asking for, what should I include etc, how much should I be paying. I’m in Hampshire, not loaded but prefer to spend money up front and have peace of mind over skimping it.

Many thanks all

Hi, 1) you can’t do too many oil changes to any engine 2) cam belt less critical as not interference engine 3) coolant change and flush together with check of all hoses and steel pipes essential. 4) fit low coolant alarm. The 2.0 ltr are reasonably robust, what mileage has it done? Check tyre for cracks even if they look like they have lots of tread. Last - enjoy the new motor :D
2002 Friendee 2.0 ltr Petrol.
