Not 100% it was on here now i think about it......

here is what i did....

If you change the battery in the remote central locking fob, you'll need this procedure to re-code the fob.
You can also use this for coding spare or new fobs.

1. All doors closed, but unlocked.
2. Open drivers door, leave it open.
3. Put key in ignition, and turn it between ON and LOCK 3 times.
4. Remove key from ignition.
5. Press the drivers door switch 3 times (the switch that operates the courtesy light).
6. The doors should lock and unlock.
7. Press any button on the remote twice.
8. The doors should lock then unlock again.

hope this helps

Step 5 - where is this switch, I’m probably having a blonde moment. Is it the door lock nob up by the window?

Open drivers door look at the lower left corner of the door frame you will see the rubber covered push switch, the door pushes it in when it closes.

Geoff - Surprised to read above that this switch is more than just a simple/dumb switch Geoff. Could it really be used as part of reprogramming a key fob on my ancient 1995 Bongo? I don't actually have a remote fob, but if I did......

Its is just a dumb switch, the immobilsers and remotes watch the 12 volt supply rail for the lights and other sensors and watch for a "pulsed" voltage drop to occur, quite often the cause of oddities if other things are operating at the same time ;-)

Thanks as ever Geoff and ye gods what a strange concept! If I fit a 2000ah battery will the voltage drop be too small to trigger it?

No the voltage will still vary sufficiently.
