Help locating Head Gasket and Cylinder Head Parts in BC Canada

Post by Jordan F » Wed Aug 15, 2018 2:11 pm

Hey everyone, i’m new here, so please let me know if I am posting in the right place for this.

Unfortunately I have a 1997 Friendee WL-T 2.5L Diesel with a suspected blown head gasket and/or cracked/warped cylinder head. I’m trying to source parts here in Vancouver Island in Canada and wondering if anyone has any recommendations for me. If I will be able to find these parts in Canada, or if I will need to have them shipped. Please let me know if you have any recommendations for sourcing these parts.

Thanks everyone,
Jordan

Humm, Canada is suddenly becoming popular with Bongo's viewtopic.php?p=701172#p701172
Not sure about part availability over there however, but might be worth making contact with them via PM to see if they know of a source ?

You should be able to source cylinder head / gaskets in Canada ,from Ford/Mazda dealers as the WLTD head is used in various Ford and Mazda vehicles.

If you get stuck you could contact this guy............progroup is his forum name.

Does the Bongo WLTD head though have a modification for the bleed tube? Seem to recall you can still fit heads without them but how is the crucial bleeding procedure then conducted?

@hayden callow, can you explain what you mean?

Also, thanks for the suggestions everyone, I need to find out if it is the head gasket now or if the head is gone too, the shop it’s at is taking forever to get back to me so trying to figure some of this out on my own.

There is absolutely no reason to mess about with the plumbing that might cause a Dead Leg, you only need to order the correct parts (tree)for the job .

I think thats what Haydn is suggesting? The main point for the OP to note is that if fitting a Ford Ranger head then this mod. will need doing? Do you have a part number for the relevant tee piece?
