I've now dropped the coolant on my Bongo twice in the last week trying to seal the top rad hose where it meets the steel pipe.
It's not a gush but a dew drop that appears at the neck after a couple of hours or so. I've had the hose off and cleaned the metal stub so you can see your face in it. Tried Jubilee and no luck. Now ordered a gen clip from the shop and will try that next.
Was wondering if a smear of Wellseal around the stub would be a good idea as well? Don't want to replace that hose as it has a good feel to it (rubbery and ripe, not plasticky and crunchy).

Re: Weeping hose
do you mean the metal pipe down towards the steering rack under the bonnet or the engine end to engine ?.
working from front rad backwards towards the engine.
the rad joint is usually plastic and can crack, the next joint to the steel pipe usually gets a pin hole in the underside where the clip wraps round it so check this very very carefully. half way along the metal pipe towards the engine, at the axle there is a fill point nipple, its on the underside of the pipe so it very hard to locate with the bottom covers still on, this can rust off completely and leave a rusty hole. the next joint towards the engine at the end of this steel pipe also suffers from corrosion, then the next joint is onto the head itself, this is ally and can need cleaning up.
the sprung mazda clips are the way to go not jubilee clips.
check the hoses are gen mazda as they have a stronger braided internal construction, the cheaper ones dont and can swell with heat.
leaks here are often linked to over temps leaving the head, has the stat been changed lately and do the front cooling fans work as they should.

Re: Weeping hose
That's excellent info, thanks. It's the steel pipe to stat hose:

Pipe is clean now but was crusty at bottom. I'm thinking that one of the rust scabs has deformed the pipe and the clip no longer has the guts to seal it. Stat and rest of system all fine now but plenty of evidence of an overheat at some point in it's life including a new radiator and the mess in the 'smokey bongo' thread.

Re: Weeping hose
The stat isn't on that side of the engine, it's on the other, but no worries.
Check the scabs very carefully as the pin holes can be hard to spot. It looks like a gen mazda hose so that's good.if it's been stretched it may take a little while to seal again as it has to reshape. Give it a week or so then check again they usually seal. If not a smear of sealer won't hurt but make sure it's coolant resistant.

Ah, 'tis a 2.0...should've put that in the title.
I'll await the clip and check that pipe again, thanks.
