I would guess the sump may warp so not seal properly. :(

As long as your haven't gone mad it will be okay. I'd certainly be leaving it first, and monitoring leaks. You might be okay.

You can damage the threads in the alloy casting before you warp these sumps anyway, tbh. They are pretty good. I used to work with ZF boxes a lot, the sumps were similar, and are pretty resilient, based on my experience. Much better than the plastic ones anyway. 👍😂

Be honest i have had it out every day for at least half an hour and been checking it like crazy since i done it, all seems well so far and i did use some tough as hell silicone sealant along with the gasket just for good measure, so will be continuing to monitor it for now.

will have it in the workshop to change all the belts and ac pulley on tuesday and at the same time i am going to sort the sump on the engine as someones previous attemp to seal it with what looks like low grade white silicone doesn't seem to be holding well [-X , its leaking at the back end of the sump, so i think i might just redo it the when i sort the others out.

any idea of torque settings for the oil sump? [-o< and thanks for the reassurance, i swear by the time ive finished i think i'll be bored as hell cos there wont be much if anything to do after that.
