Re: Gear selector/inhibitor switch WANTED
I have a spare box with a good one on? How desperate are you and how much are you willing to pay? I could remove it you.
Falling that are any other pins the same? I have a Bongo with no engine and box. I might be able to get you another pin and a length of wire?

Re: Gear selector/inhibitor switch WANTED
Hi, thanks for the speedy reply. Quite honestly I don't know the extent of the damage as it's with my mechanic at the local garage. I'm assuming from the pictures you couldn't use wire and a pin because its built inside the plastic? ideally I'd like the whole unit and the female part of the plug with some wire left (fussy, I know!) just to make it easier and he said they're both fairly corroded.Billybongo123 wrote: Mon Mar 26, 2018 7:13 pm I have a spare box with a good one on? Also there are different versions I believe so would have to be the same as the pictured one.
So I'm fairly desperate as i'd love to use the van because I've only had it 6 weeks..what money would you be looking for? I have no idea what it's worth.
Also where are you located? Thanks, Toby

Still searching for one of these. No-one on ebay is willing to separate from gearbox sadly.

I understood the auto gearbox was fitted to other vehicles? In which case maybe contact Alacrity to see if there are alternative/ other compatible sources?

Re: Gear selector/inhibitor switch WANTED
I used this place in the past for a gearbox solenoid and found them very good , one of the techs there is familiar with bongos .
I can't remember his name but they will " automatically ". ( sorry
) send all bongo stuff his way , might be worth a call
Best of luck

Re: Gear selector/inhibitor switch WANTED
That's good,what was the cure.?
Take care

Re: Gear selector/inhibitor switch WANTED
It was the inhibitor in the gear box, it was stopping it from starting presumably vecause it thought it was in gear at all times. The connections were very badly water damaged and rusted
