Central Locking

Post by Glynanderson » Wed Oct 25, 2006 11:42 am

Hi, I'm in the middle of installing a car alarm which also has the ability to operate the central locking.
I've had a few goes at wiring it up according to the (badly translated) instructions, but have onle succeeded in blowing fuses.
Does anybody know which type of locking the Bongo has?
*
Negative pulse central locking
*
Positive pulse central locking
*
Pneumatic central locking(audi/vw)
*
Pos/Neg additional solenoid control

As usual any help would be appreciated.
I got my Sat Nav system working OK, thanks for all your help on that!
Cheers,
Glyn

Waycar8 is right. If your central locking does not work from the passenger's door lock ( don't know if any Bongos do but mine did not) you will need to fit a solenoid to the driver's door. There is a worksheet, with photos, covering fitting the solenoid in the member's area, look for 'Fitting remote central locking'. You will have to ignore the wiring instructions though and follow those for fitting your alarm.

Hi,
Thanks (again) for the help.
I was (foolishly) presuming that there was also a solenoid in the drivers door.
No wonder all I've managed to do so far is blow fuses! he he.
Will get myself a solenoid and have another go.
I'm sure I'll get there ventually.
Cheers,
Glyn
