Two pictures of my mother in laws neighbours bongo
is there a pipe missing off the bit in middle

this pipe (down by the autobox filler pipe) seems to have a nut fitted

are either of these a cause for a recent episode of smoking (white/grey)

It looks like an air solenoid. Is this a 2.0 or V6?
If it is then they sometimes have an open spigot like that.
Where is it on the engine may be able to track it from the Lush Projects site.
Whats the issue with the smoke?
If it is a diesel
is this the component in this image above the inlet? If yes It does show a pipe connected.

Its part of the EGR/cold start I believe so could well be related to your issue.
I am not sure what the ferrule nut is though. If someone (NB?) doesnt come up with an answer I can check it out Monday.
Whereabouts is the ferrule nut?
Has this issue started recently or following engine work?

I think the ferrule nut is a separate issue as it does not appear to be on the power train, more likely related to fuel filter or the like. none the less it needs to be identified as safe to remain disconnected.
However you can see in this image that the missing pipe runs to what appears to be a non return valve ( the black barrel shaped object) this then continues to the induction pipe very near the fuel filter. It would seem likely that this has been knocked off while working in that area. It should be easy enough to track it back if you start from the induction pipe.

whats been said above is correct, the missing pipe from that stub should go to the large air inlet pipe nipple via the little one way valve, look for a hole in the inlet pipe near the rear of the head the nipple can break off. the solenoid shown is to control the on or off on the egr, theres 2, one next to it is its pair, quite often these get butchered or bypassed if the egr has been blanked off or has stuck in one position or the other.

Can anyone point me and Andy at the correct part number on Lush Projects?

Andy remembers the silver heat shroud.
With a bit of luck he'll be sorted soon.
You can be sure he'll moan about the cost

Help! Still having problems with blue and white smoke, it all started from before I serviced my 2.5TD. changed oil and air/fuel flitters. I have also added a new one way valve on the egr as this was missing and as advised on this forum, this made no difference. I have also blanked of the EGR no difference. Fitted new glow plugs no difference. the blue and white smoke is coming out all the time when running where it started when idling. this engine has always used a lot of water, having to always check water levels before going out anywhere. somebody said it could be head gasket which id leaking into the exhaust side, I have checked the oil and there is no sign of water in the oil, no loss of power just slight missing on start up but once its gets over a 1000 revs it clears. Well I think I have mentioned everything, anyone with any other suggestions please. look forward to reading the replies.
