Headlights always on

Morning all

I will repost my question here as it is probably the correct place.

We have just fitted a lesiure battery , loom kit and split charge kit. Everything appears to be working, the lesuire battery is charging and powering blinds, stereo etc ... but ..
the headlights are now always on when the Key starts the ignition when they in the off position
The headlights work without the key in but as soon as you turn the key the headlights lights come on.

All advice would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like a fault either with the switch or the relay, as the relay is easy to get at try swopping it for the sidelights relay and see if the fault moves to the sidelights if so replace the faulty relay, otherwise look towards the switch itself.

Thank you very much Geoff for the detailed reply. We reset the relay yesterday and the issue has resolved itself so all is good thanks
