Hi everybody!
I was wondering if anybody could show exactly the right pipe to cut to disable the EGR system?
I have seen the diagram on a thread but i'm not totally sure which one to cut n cap!

It's not as simple as 'cutting the pipe'. On other import diesels such as Toyotas, the EGR pipe is connected to the manifolds by way of a pipe with a welded connector and two bolts (rather like an exhaust pipe connector). It's different on the Bongo. The pipe connects to the manifold by a threaded connection like a plumbing compression joint. So the way to fully remove the EGR pipework on the Bongo requires some destructive mods to the pipes (ie. no going back) whereby you re-use the screw connection by either sawing off with about 2" of pipe remaining and crimping over the pipe. Or saw the pipe off completely and weld/solder/braze a piece of metal over the hole in the threaded union (our Russian colleagues suggest a Rubel coin).
Ideally, the way to do this would be to source a threaded plug that fits the hole in the manifolds.

Surely if you clamp the hose in the centre by two pieces of metal strip and a couple of screws you would seal it in both directions if you see what I mean then you dont have to cut of destroy anything and it is reversable if you find it gives aproblem???? 

Sorry I misunderstood you. I thought you were referring to the metal pipe that connects the inlet manifold to the exhaust manifold. If you are simply trying to disable it without doing anything destructive then the simplest method is to pull the hose from the diaphragm and block it as I stated in the other thread. What's more simpler and easier to put back than that?

Back in Black - look at my picture as pasted by Dandy earlier in this thread. That pipe came off the diaphragm that can just be seen in the background. Simply pull it off and block it with something like a bolt. It's all you need to do. BTW - someone in a black Bongo on the A3075 Newquay to A30 road gave me a wave yesterday (mine's all black) wasn't you was it?

Ah - so!
I had looked at Dandy's photo before - and assumed the plugged pipe was the one down on the left, by that silver insulation - hadn't spotted the red cross - it doesn't seem to show up very well - unless you know you're looking for a red cross!!
