coolant alarm

coolant alarm
we have a coolant alarm fitted tell you of a possible over heat, well we had to get an auto electrician out to fix a problem since discovered he has cut the wire on our alarm. is this an easy fix

Which wire ?
There are are normally only a couple he could damage, the +12 v power under the dash or the sensor wire going to the header tank under the bonnet ?

Slide on a bit of heat shrink and solder the cut ends together?
