Headlight Reflectors

Post by rie » Sun Oct 16, 2016 10:17 am

Hello Bongo Fury,
Hope everyone is well on this murky Sunday morning!

Wondering if anyone can please help? Last time the bongo went in for servicing the guy at garage said the beam from the main headlights is borderline for MOT. He thought the reflectors were starting to wear but they look fine. Wondering if there's anything you can do to buff them up or something? Or is the only option new lights?

(It is the reflector rather than lens - we've previously removed the film from the lens.)
Thanks,
Marie

Hi Marie.
Not that I am aware of.
Maybe check out resto sites like Easrwoods or simillar. You may able to get them recoated at a chrome works but I would think that expensive. Probably best route would be second hand.
And its murky here too.

This won't help, but the sun is lovely down here. :D
Take a torch, toilet roll, and tea bags.

Never tried if but I believe the reflector isn't a serviceable part. However a brave owner or two have split the lens from the body to gain access to the reflector.
