Camshaft Pulley Bolt - I'm desperate to find one!

Post by RobnKathryn » Wed Oct 18, 2006 4:47 pm

Hi
My Bongo has been off the road now for ever, because the guy who's fitting the valves and camshaft from my old cylinder head to my new one can't remove the camshaft pulley bolt so reckons he has to machine the old one out. He is a cylinder head expert so in my ignorance I'm inclined to trust him although I've spoken to a number of other people (Bell Hill etc) who say that although it is very tight they've never not been able to get one out.

I've got one on order from Mazda, but I'm very disappointed that after 3 weeks they are still unable even to give me a delivery time. I've tried the usual suspects for a bolt but to no avail...the bolts tend to stay with the cylinder heads they came from.

Anyone got any ideas??? I really don't want to use anything other than a genuine part in such a critical location.

Cheers.........Rob
