Do I need a new leisure battery ? Not holding its charge.

Post by vj3 » Thu Jun 02, 2016 8:40 pm

Hi. Leisure battery is not holding its charge at all. Had it tested on a meter and it seems fine. But just charged it up, unhooked it, display down to red almost immediately. Did not have fridge or any other stuff on. I presume it is just old and needs replacing. It is over 5 years old.
Any help would be great

Worth picking your new LB carefully, they are not all equal. Many purchase online from Tayna though a quick search on here will pick up other sources as well. Decide in battery capavity, 100Ah seems very popular with forum members. Personally I just bought an EXV100 Enduroline 100Ah from them (£98 incl carriage), guessing the 110Ah version is the EXV110 !. The key thing is that the terminals are the right way round, the dimensions fit in your battery tray and clear the wing and bonnet.

Of course ordering online means fitting yourself, which is easy with a bit of care (disconnect both battery's negative terminals first and reconnect last), or getting someone else to fit. Alternatively find out what a local place will supply and fit, then see if anybody has experience of the battery on here before parting with your cash.

Meant to say 110Ah is popular
