So, uhhhh, yeah
Got half way to my grandparents 7 miles away. Wondered what the rattling noise was....
Turns out the exhaust had sheered off on the join to the muffler!
This van is just the gift that keeps on giving!
What do I do? Are the parts available in this country?
Do I buy part of the exhaust or replace it all?
Thanks!
EDIT: Would the 'Exhaust Centre Section & Back Box (diesel)' from the shop do?
EDIT EDIT:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mazda-Bongo-2 ... SwAYtWPJ5l - This looks good?

Bad luck.
If its the pipe where it goes into the rear box failed, yes, the part from Bongo Shop will do. Common failure.
If you don't fancy DIY then ADS, South Liberty Lane, will sort it for you. Well respected Bongo Garage.

Backbox generally an easy diy job and you can get a diesel one for £39 posted on ebay (item 201575931168) though don't forget you'll want a gasket also and maybe new nuts and bolts.

Thanks chaps. I really appreciate the quick responses.
Mike, that sure looks like the part that I need. I'll buy it and attempt to do it myself. Sorry to ask, but can you link me to the other parts that I need (bolts etc) to finish the job.
Just one of these? eBay 131812667391
Also, I'm not 100% sure whether I can carry on using the van. Assume I can but best to get it sorted asap?

Some people don't even bother putting a new backbox on, but its a bit too burbly for me without one. I think that ebay item is the one I have one mine (from memory mine cost £42 and was from a Sheffield supplier). Its been on 2 years now and at that price I don't mind if it doesn't last too long. And yes that ebay kit will be the one (AVA are long established Bongo part suppliers). Some have got away refitting old stuff but for the sake of a little extra its nice to have new rather than risk an unexpected snag in the job. Its very easy to change the box as long as you can get clearance underneath (which might be possible just parking with two wheels on the kerb). But you will need a good six sided socket (better purchase on an old hex bolt than a 12 sided) and an extension arm for it probably. If you don't have the tools it might be best to see if a local garage can fit it for you. They shouldn't be charging much as for them it should be not much more than a 15 min job at a guess. Worth checking the state of your middle exhaust section also and possibly getting both sections done at the same time if in doubt. We're in the camping season and you don't want hassle right now
