Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but just thought I'd pop in to say hi
We are yet to become bongo owners, but decided it was time for an 'upgrade' after our poor tent suffered the effects of storm katie over the easter weekend.
After much debating and several friends and family members trying to persuade us to get a caravan or a motorhome, we have decided that a bongo is for us
Any advice on how to start our search for the perfect vehicle would be much appreciated My Husband is keen to get as much advice as possible, including technical stuff, before we take the plunge. We're based in Essex.

Warm
Welcome to you both.
There's info on buying on here, not quite sure where after revamp, and you need to read up on the cooling system.
Other than that a Bongo is good old fashioned stuff.

Andy's Imports just west of Norwich is a good place to start, if you're looking at newly imported.charlotteanddavid wrote:Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but just thought I'd pop in to say hi

Ooohh, thank you very much! We'll look into that. We've had a quick look on ebay and auto trader but it looks like a trip to Norwich to Andys Imports is next )

My Husband is the kind of person that likes to do as much research as possible before he buys anything. His idea at the moment is to get a non conversion, so long as it has a pop up roof, and possibly get it converted at a later date.

Hi Charlotte, welcome to the forum. We went down the same route as you and bought an unconverted Freda. Although we bought the van primarily for camping we have used all 8 seats quite a few times so now we are umming and ahhing about what conversion to get which still keeps the versatility of the van.

Welcome Charlotte and David to the mad world of Bongos.....
It is very wise to do as much research as possible and this forum is the ideal place to learn everything about the Bongo ( well nearly everything )
Your idea to buy unconverted is ideal as you will find the versatility of the Bongo very useful and as there are so many different conversions that will give you time to select the one that suits your needs best if you decide to go down that route.
Your best place to research different conversions would have been the big bash at Stourport which was 3 weeks ago where our very friendly members would have been glad to show you theirs.
Good luck with your search and do not be afraid to ask questions on here even if you think it's a daft one as we all started off in the same situation as you.....we were all newbies at one time.. ...and some of us longer than we care to think about...
Alan
ps....if you include your location then someone local to you would only be too glad to offer help and advice..
Alan...still plodding on....!
