Help please????

Help I'm over heating!!!! I noticed she was hot on the gauge so I pulled over!! Header tank is full but other day it was nearer the low mark? What do I do? Do I wait for it to cool down and then move it? No water leaking anywhere! Would appreciate a call desperately!!! On double yellows?

Yes let it cool, don't open the caps until its really cool otherwise you will reduce the pressure and it will boil again! Sounds like a slow leak with air having got sucked in, which is now blocking the flow. You really need to fill and bleed it where you are or consider getting it transported back.

Hi gdhe thanx for reply, I heard a gurgling sound as she cooled down looked in header tank and no fluid in there, so I squeezed hoses and some fluid appeared in tank! I've moved her and parked her up til tomorrow! The fluid that was still in the system may have saved her? A garage put a new radiator and a steel coolant pipe on in November and I don't think everything was tightened up properly?? I will be having a chat with them tomorrow!
it will be going to my usual garage tomorrow! Anyway thanks for your valuable advice

Ooh careful moving it. It's not so much about the coolant that is in there but the air that has got in. This air can stop the coolant circulating and cause overheating with all its expensive consequences. If it is at all possible it should be bled without further driving. Appreciating that this may not be possible nor affordable, you could consider topping up, squeezing your pipes
and GENTLY driving for less than <15 mins but this is risky. You might get away with it or It could crack the cylinder head.
Perhaps leave the garage who did the work with the decision and responsibility for consequences?
